free entrance! One of Japan's leading museums exhibiting academic specimens
The academic specimen collection that the University of Tokyo has accumulated since its founding in 1877 is now open to the public for free as part of a collaborative project with Japan Post. Many of the chic display cases and cabinets that give you a sense of history were actually used during the days of the former Imperial University, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the 19th century. You'll be overwhelmed by the many exhibits that you can't see anywhere else, such as animal bones, medical equipment, and minerals. On your way back, we recommend going to the attached museum shop and buying some clear files and other developed products!

Enjoying train travel and eating ekiben
If you're traveling from Tokyo Station, be sure to stop by Ekibenya Matsuri on the 1st floor of the station. We carry famous ekiben from all over Japan. This is an ekiben specialty store that sells over 200 types of ekiben every day. There are so many attractive ekiben that you'll be spoiled for choice. You can see photos of the contents of the bento, so you can find the one you like.
-
A characteristic of Japanese ekiben is that the ingredients and cooking methods are optimized so that it remains delicious even at room temperature. Especially recommended is the Makunouchi bento, which has a history of over 100 years and can be said to be the culmination of Japanese food culture, and many bento shops compete to show their skills.

Easily accessible natural and historical space inside the Imperial Palace
This is a vast park rich in nature that was created by maintaining a portion of Edo Castle (currently the Imperial Palace). The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace is open to the public, so it's easy to visit. While we recommend relaxing on the wide lawn, we also recommend taking a walk along the ruins of the past. Lunchtime concerts by the Imperial Palace Police Band are held irregularly, but the lunchtime concerts by the Imperial Palace Police Band are especially wonderful, so be sure to check the website before your visit.
-
There is a 50m long stone wall just past Ote-mon and Ote-san-no-mon. Hyakunin Bansho was a checkpoint when entering Edo Castle, and was given the name because it was always guarded by 100 concentric soldiers. You will be reminded of the technology used at the time to pile up large stones without any gaps, and you will be able to experience the overwhelming power of the stone. Of course, it is also a recommended spot for commemorative photos.
